Sala Laguna (Via Pietro Buratti, 1 – Lido di Venezia) Friday, September 5, 2025 – 6:00 PM

As part of Isola Edipo at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, acclaimed director Anatoly Balchev will present his film “Vysotsky. Unknown… a True Story” as a special event screening.

The film, through rare archival footage and exclusive testimonies, uncovers previously unknown stories from the life of Vladimir Vysotsky — the Rebel Poet, Bard, and Artist who left a lasting impact not only in Russia but also in France, the United States, Canada, Italy, and Mexico throughout the 1960s and 70s. His artistic legacy — spanning theater, cinema, and poetry — was forged through hardship and sacrifice, and it continues to inspire discussion, admiration, and debate to this day.

The screening will take place in the presence of Anatoly Balchev, offering a unique cultural moment that brings Vysotsky’s voice and image closer to new generations.

The project is proudly supported by Anna Stukkert, whose contribution emphasizes the international importance of introducing Vysotsky’s story to audiences worldwide.
