Etihad Airways has announced the launch of direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Peshawar, Pakistan, starting September 29, 2025, as part of the airline’s continued expansion across South Asia.
The new route will link Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi with Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar, making Peshawar the fourth city in Pakistan served by Etihad, alongside Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore.
Initially, the service will operate five times per week, with plans to expand to daily flights from November 22, 2025. Etihad will operate Airbus A320 aircraft on the route, featuring a two-class configuration with eight Business Class and 150 Economy Class seats.
Commenting on the announcement, Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, said, “We are excited to enhance our footprint in Pakistan with the introduction of direct flights to Peshawar. This addition highlights our ongoing commitment to improving connectivity for travelers between Pakistan and key destinations across the Gulf, Africa, Europe, and North America.”
Alongside the Peshawar launch, Etihad also announced an increase in its services to Karachi, which will see 17 weekly flights beginning October 1, 2025.
The introduction of the Peshawar route follows Etihad’s recent network growth, including the launch of flights to Addis Ababa, and brings the total number of new destinations added in 2025 to 16. Other destinations introduced this year include Prague, Warsaw, Algiers, Tunis, and Atlanta.
As part of its broader global expansion strategy, Etihad is also increasing flight frequencies to key European hubs such as Paris, Milan, Manchester, Frankfurt, Zurich, and Madrid.
