His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Dubai Future Foundation, reaffirmed Dubai’s commitment to shaping the future of artificial intelligence (AI) during his visit to the inaugural day of the Dubai Assembly for AI, part of Dubai AI Week 2025.
Speaking at the event, Sheikh Hamdan underscored the importance of AI as a transformative force impacting every sector—from healthcare and education to mobility and finance. He noted that, under the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, the emirate was among the first in the world to invest heavily in AI infrastructure and innovation.
“This is the era of artificial intelligence,” Sheikh Hamdan said. “Collaboration across borders is the key to unlocking AI’s full potential. Dubai is proud to be a global stage where AI pioneers, innovators, and governments come together to design future-ready solutions that enhance lives.”
During his tour of the assembly, held from April 21 to 25, Sheikh Hamdan explored cutting-edge AI technologies exhibited by global tech leaders such as Meta and Teslasuit. He also interacted with promising startups—over 60 from various countries—showcasing forward-thinking projects in areas like wearable tech, generative AI, smart mobility, and healthcare.
The Assembly is a central platform within Dubai AI Week 2025, which brings together senior leaders from multinational tech firms, government bodies, research institutions, and academic centers. Delegations from countries including the United States, South Korea, Germany, Canada, India, Australia, and Italy are participating, highlighting Dubai’s role as a trusted global hub for AI development.
The opening day featured more than 50 high-level sessions, immersive workshops, and interactive showcases. Key topics included fostering youth and women in AI entrepreneurship, the ethical use of AI, and the role of intelligent technologies in preserving linguistic heritage and enriching Arabic-language digital content.
The initiative aligns with the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence, which aims to empower individuals and institutions to seamlessly integrate AI into their operations and daily lives. The strategy emphasizes responsible innovation, sustainability, and positioning Dubai as a leader in the global AI race.
Also attending the event were His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; H.E. Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Vice Chairman of the Dubai Future Foundation; and H.E. Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, along with several high-ranking officials and tech visionaries.
Dubai AI Week 2025 serves not only as a showcase of innovation but as a call to action for governments, companies, and individuals to collaborate on building an inclusive and intelligent future.
